Got back from Iraq last week and had all the new goodies ordered from Fast Eddy and Triumph waiting patiently to be installed.
Here are several pics of the completed project. Am still not sure about the color of the Corbin seat, really wanted a couple of shades darker (it is the Bomber Jacket color leather). have tried Neetsfoot oil, a leather darkening oil from a local tack shop and it doesn't seem to be darkening any....really don't want to try to dye it but may go that route in the future.

- Dual touring Corbin seat w/gunfighter backrest (Thanks for the info about the Bomber Jacket color Bedouin)
- Hardstreet Slimbags, EZ brackets, Spitfire sportshield, Joker gas cap (Thanks Fast Eddy for the order, advice and great customer service)
- Short TORs, Black teardrop mirrors from Triumph
- Tank badges from R3 (Thanks for the detailed install threads from Thatch, Hoorad and Birdy)
- Tank pads from Techspec (Thanks for the pics and info Tadpole)

.....now,....I just need to find some crash bars....and a GPS mount...and...

Even if the colour is not quite to your taste, what's the comfort like? I really want one but finding it hard to justify the extortionate cost (in the UK).

Well the good news is that you got back to ride it. That looks like one comfy seat. Looks like you have good sunshine there - so why are you not out on your Bird ?

The comfort is really great, I have taken it out several times and the there is just no comparison with the stock seat. I also really like the option of mounting the backrest behind the rider if I don't have a passenger for the added back support.

Bulldog - love the seat. I think it's great as is. Nice contrast with the black of the Storm. As for a gps mount, I found a great one for my Garmin 770 in chrome. Here's the link:

It's a little pricey, but it looks great. Good luck!

HooRad,

Thanks, the more I look at it the more I like the seat as is .....yesterday I initially thought it was just too light.....now I think it is definitely growing on me (plus the fact that I am not gonna pay Corbin another $300 to have recovered )

It is good to be home Eddy, thanks again!

I notice that I sit slightly forward and a little higher on the Corbin...I am 6' and weigh 195 (not a big difference with leg room and the forward controls). I took the bike out several times after the install (longest jaunt was for about an hour) last weekend and didn't get the usual 'ass' fatigue after riding an hour on the Storm. I have read other threads that members say they are fine riding an 2-3 hours with the Corbin. The only drawback is the price...a little expensive for a seat....but a much better option than the Triumph Longhaul IMHO.

What tank pads did you use? They don't have one listed for the Bird.
Thanks and welcome home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is actually a metal hat pin that I got at a local HD store - snipped the pin off and dremeled down the post and used some of my leftover 3M automotive tape from the rebadge to mount. My number has always been 13 in sports growing up....I am not sure if it is supposed to stand for Hells Angels or something else, I just like the number.....it is lucky for me.

Very true.....and now I think I can say with undeniable certainty that the fastest color scheme is black with brown leather and a number 13 somewhere on it.... I think it added at least 20HP!!

Well I'm not a big fan of the cushiness of the Corbin seat. (it just has too much mass) However, I think the color combination looks great and you've addressed some of the issues that I personally have with the storm in that in stock form it seems 'muddy' to me, no accents to speak of. The brown gives it that extra bit it needs. If you are of a mind to you might think of a small brown tool roll on the front of the bike to carry the brown through the bike a bit more. That might give a nice visual movement to the bike as well. (though I'd certainly not over do it ... and fringe is not allowed )

Nice badges too

Thatch,

I was thinking the same, give it another accent of brown. I ordered some more leather from Corbin and will have a local leather guy make...will post pics how it turns out. I think that HD has the patent on fringes and leather grip whips.. wouldn't want to get sued...
